Our story
Born from the Cooperation & Development Association
The AID Development Centre grew out of the Cooperation & Development Association (CDA), a local civil, non-sectarian association founded in 2004 in Majdal Sehn. CDA was granted public-utility status by official Decree No. 54/AD, and it is committed to a more inclusive path for Lebanese society.
CDA works to strengthen cultural and educational awareness, and to help every person unfold their own capabilities. It works against the marginalization and discrimination that hold people back.
The AID Development Centre carries that same commitment. Together, CDA and AID work so that cultural and educational growth goes together with the empowerment of each citizen, and so that opportunity and equality replace exclusion.

Empower the child, and open the school
Our mission is to empower children with special abilities through tailored training programs, providing holistic care and support to both them and their families. We are dedicated to dismantling barriers, advocating for the repeal of restrictive laws and standards, ensuring equal opportunities within educational institutions, and fostering inclusivity throughout society.
Our objectives
Six goals the center works toward
Prevention
Early identification and evaluation, using diagnostic methods across learning difficulties, giftedness, hyperactivity, attention, emotional and behavioral needs, autism, and other developmental challenges.
Therapy
Rehabilitation through tailored training, suitable aids, and support for speech, sensory-motor, and occupational needs.
Education
Individualized educational plans, the right teaching methods and tools, and staff prepared for each special-education category.
Function
Psychological and social adaptation, early intervention, and educational, social, and psychological support for the child and the family.
Community
Courses and workshops that strengthen what each person can do, and raise the cultural and educational awareness of the wider community.
